Raymond J. Parsons, 84 of Sterling, passed away Tues., June 17, 2014 in Brush. Visitation will be Thurs., June 19, 2014 from 10am until 4pm at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Fri., June 20, at 10:30 am at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home, interment Riverside Cemetery.

Raymond was born July 8, 1929 in Sterling, Co to Raymond F. and Marjorie E. Wellman Parsons. He graduated from Sterling High School. On April 23, 1968 he married Birdie E. Held. Raymond farmed and ranched thru the years. He was a member of the Grace Bible Church and the Low Line Ditch Board.

He is survived by son James L. Parsons and wife Julie K. of Conifer, CO; daughters June M. Parsons of Fairfax, Virginia, Judy R. Florian and husband Keith of Brush, Julie R. Evans and husband Preston Gillmore of Rockville, Maryland and Kathy L. Swingle and husband Darney of Sterling; brother Gerald K. Parsons and wife Sharon of Sterling; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Raymond was preceded in death by his wife Birdie in 2012; brothers Robert Dale and Eugene C. Parsons; grandchildren Rich Florian and Brandi Evans.
