Eugene Eisenach, 88, of Sterling, died Oct. 8, 2011, in Sterling. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at Chaney-Reager, with the Rev. Chuck Vorderberg officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Eisenach was born June 6, 1923, in Atwood to Jacob and Katherine (Feibig) Eisenach. He graduated from Atwood High School. He entered the U.S. Army on May 30, 1945, and was honorably discharged Oct. 10, 1946.
He was a farmer and carpenter.
On Jan. 26, 1947, he married Mildred Schuppe in Sterling.
Mr. Eisenach was a member of Zion Congregational Church and Sterling BPO Elks Lodge No. 1336. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and crafts.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Eisenach of Sterling; son, Wayne Eisenach of Sterling; daughter, Annette Sandstead of Fort Collins; brothers, Clifford Eisenach of Colorado Springs and Gerald Eisenach of Denver; sisters, Bernice Heist of Sterling and Shirley Eisenach of Sterling; grandchild, Ashley Moore and husband Aaron of Fort Collins; and great-grandchild, Aidan Moore of Fort Collins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be made to Zion Congregational Church.
