Phyllis J. Jones, 85, of Sterling passed away Saturday, September 8, 2018 in Sterling. Visitation will be from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm, Thursday, Sept. 13 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, Sept. 14, in the Chapel at Chaney-Reager with Pastor Lew Champ officiating.  Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery following the service.

Phyllis was born October 20, 1932, in Fort Morgan to Glenn and Viola (Knoll) Bringelson. She graduated from New Raymer High School and Northeastern Junior College.  Phyllis married Jimmie Jones on September 13, 1953, in Sterling.  She was a homemaker while raising their children, later holding several jobs in Sterling.  Phyllis was a long-time member of First Christian Church of Sterling, serving in various capacities and enjoying the fellowship that the church provided.

Phyllis is survived by her four children, Rodney (Shelly) of Littleton, CO, Gary of Sterling, Gordon (Michelle) of Fort Collins, CO and Rhonda (Gene) Purdy of Pine Bluffs, WY; three grandchildren, Garrett Purdy, Rachel Purdy and Erika Jones; two step-grandchildren, Samantha Koontz and Joseph Koontz and sister Illene (Stan) Kaiser of Merino, CO.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband Jimmie and sister Marcella Wirth.
