Patsy J. Taylor, 76, of Merino, died Sept. 25, 2008, in Thornton. Visitation will be from noon until 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 29, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home, with the Rev. Derek DeToni-Hill officiating. Services will conclude at the funeral home.
She was born Oct. 12, 1931 to Allen B. and Helen A.B. (Hutchinson) Muhr in Harrisburg, Neb. Her family was one of the founding families of Banner County, homesteading in the 1900s in Nebraska. She attended school in Harrisburg, Neb.
On Aug. 14, 1948, she married Walter M. Taylor in Banner County. They owned and operated Taylor Evergreen in Allenspark, which they started in 1958. They moved to Merino in 1971, continuing the business until 1976.
Mrs. Taylor enjoyed gardening and was especially proud of her lilac bushes. She also enjoyed reading.
She is survived by her daughter, Amy Kaus and husband Jerry of Sterling; sons, Wayne Taylor and wife Erika, and Richard Taylor and Barbara Kelley, all of Sterling, James Taylor of Queen Creek, Ariz., Robert Taylor and wife Michelle of Essex, Iowa, Ivan Taylor and wife Jay of Fort Worth, Texas, and Daniel Taylor and wife Toni of Frederick; daughter, Billie Lynn Boss of Fort Lupton; sisters, Peggy Krieling of Minatare, Neb., Nancy Stevens of Northport, Neb., and Ellen Sharp, Lincoln, Neb.; brothers, Maynard Muhr of Bridgeport, Neb., Jerry Muhr and Terry Muhr of Mitchell, Neb.; ex-daughters-in-law, Jeannie Johnson and Brenda Taylor; 24 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Taylor is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Taylor; son, Donald; infant children, Dixie and Dale; brother, Wayne Muhr; and sister, Shirley Mount.
