Orville L. "Skeek" Harvey, 82, of Sterling, died Feb. 6, 2009, in Sterling. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, at Chaney-Reager, with the Rev. Dale Wesley officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery.
Mr. Harvey was born Dec. 21, 1926, to Louis R. and Marie (Bowey) Harvey in Sterling. He graduated from Sterling High School in 1945.
On Nov. 18, 1951, he
married Willa Deane Blankenbeckler in Sterling. The couple owned a masonary and tile business for 45 years.
Mr. Harvey was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, a lifetime member of BPO Elks Lodge No. 1336, a member of the Gideons, Boy Scouts and Explorer Scouts and the Logan County Sheriff's Posse. He enjoyed hunting and outdoor activities, and was a volunteer for the Division of Wildlife.
He is survived by many nieces, nephews and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Willa Deane Harvey in January 2007; his parents; and three brothers.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Nazarene Building Fund or the Gideons International.
