Obituary

Norma J. Weber of Sterling Colorado passed away on Saturday March 23, 2019 in Sterling. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 on Thursday March 28, 2019 at the Christ United Methodist Church in Sterling.

Norma was born to John Amen and Mary (Schuppe) Amen in Sterling on April 5, 1940. She grew up on the family farm where she developed her strong work ethic and love of family. In High School she played clarinet in the band and performed in the Macy's Day Parade in 1954. She graduated from Sterling High School and married Justin L. Weber on February 2, 1957. Three children completed their family. Norma enjoyed playing fast pitch softball and bowling.  Norma entered the work force after her children entered school.  She worked as a bookkeeper for Lowell Maggard, a secretary for North Sterling Irrigation District and drove a school bus for many years for RE-1 Valley. She was also an Election Official for Logan County for 44 years until her health forced her withdrawal from her position. Norma had several passions, one of which was tending her flowers in her beautiful back yard. She also enjoyed baking, especially Christmas cookies. Many people were on the receiving end of these wonderful cookies during the Holidays. During their 62 years of marriage, Norma and Justin loved to travel and did so as often as they were able. Norma was a Colorado Rockies fan and the couple had attended Spring Training in Arizona and many home games at Coors Field. Whether it be on motorcycle or camping, they enjoyed many trips and excursions all across the country.

Norma is preceded in death by her parents John and Mary Amen, inlaws William and Ruth Weber and brother Donald Amen.

Norma is survived by her husband Justin, son Justin and wife Julie of Atwood, son Todd and wife Michelle of Sterling, daughter Bonnie (Roome) and husband Bruce of Arvada. Grandchildren of the couple include Adrian (Kory) Stumpf, Collin (Erin) Weber, Andrea (Alan) Tena, Jared (Stephanie) Weber, Aaron (Makayla) Weber, Austin Bennett, Hunter Bennett, Cheyanne Bennett, Shawn Bennett, Braden Roome and Annabelle Roome. Great Grandchildren are Zane and Titan Stumpf, Lux and Fallon Weber, Areonna, Alan Jr, Anthony and Alana Tena, Jared Jr. and Sawyer Weber, and Archer Weber.
