Nina Fern Reeves, 99 of Denver, CO passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., Thurs., Dec. 14 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Thurs., Dec. 14 at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Nina was born on April 21, 1918 in Elwood, Nebraska to James and Hanna (Van Zant) Bloom. At the age of seven, Nina and her family moved to Sterling. She graduated from Sterling High School in 1936. She was employed at the Chamber of Commerce for several years and then worked at a major oil firm. During the mid 60's, Nina transferred to the Denver office. In 1968, she married Lawrence Reeves and they resided in Sterling. They returned to Denver and became active members of the Baptist Church. Nina served many years as the church treasurer. The couple enjoyed trips to Cypress Gardens in Florida, Hawaii and lengthy road trips to the Grand Canyon.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence; sister Mamie Wright of Cheyenne, WY and brothers, William Bloom of Denver, CO and Erman Bloom of Lebanon, OR.
