Nancy Lea Mann, 86 of Sterling, CO passed away peacefully Saturday, December 7, 2024. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 21, at First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Michelle Witherspoon as officiant. Inurnment to follow at Riverside Cemetery.
Nancy was born in St. Paul, MN to Carl Finkelson and Blanche (Hansen) Finkelson. She earned a BS in Chemistry from St. Olaf College and an MA in Special Education from Appalachian State University. She met David Mann at NJC, where they were both new instructors. Nancy and Dave were married June 15, 1963, and settled in Sterling.
Nancy and Dave were lifelong members of First Presbyterian Church of Sterling. They sang in the church choir as well as community groups and Barbershop/Sweet Adelines ensembles. Nancy sang competitively with the Wind song chorus and The Wind Chimes quartet.
Nancy and Dave were on the inaugural cast and crew with The Prairie Players community theater.
Nancy volunteered with Cooperating Ministry for many years. She was a member of the PEO and the Reviewers book club. She was a skilled seamstress and knitter, also doing quality work in stained glass. Nancy loved to travel, tending to her garden, and spending time with friends and family.
She is preceded in death by her husband David Mann and her brother Quentin Finkelson.
Nancy is survived by daughter Carrie Mann and husband Steve Parrish of Sterling, CO, son Darrin Mann and wife Lisa Mann of Lake Balboa, CA, and grandchildren Emma and Truitt Parrish, Kaylena and Kaia Mann.
