Miriam Lucille Schott, 92, a lifetime Sterling resident passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the Sterling Regional MedCenter. Visitation will be held from 10 am – 6 pm, Tuesday, March 27 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, March 28 at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Michelle D. Witherspoon officiating. Burial will follow at the Riverside Cemetery.

Miriam was born February 17, 1926 in Fort Morgan, Colorado to Alexander and Mary Lebsock Schott. Miriam graduated from Merino High School. She married Albert Schott on September 29, 1946 in Sterling. She worked alongside her husband for many years at Reliable Plumbing as a bookkeeper. She was known as the "flower lady on Park Street" for her beautiful flower gardens. She enjoyed sewing and hosted many party functions for her family and friends. Miriam loved children and baby sat for many of them. She was a longtime member of the Zion Congregational Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert in June 8, 1974; brother, Elmer Schott; nephew, Brian Schott and nieces, Tina Schott Knox, Rhonda Schott Adkins, Brenda Schott Harms and Audrey Schott Lechuga.

Miriam is survived by her daughter, Marlene K. (Bob) Jakel of Enumclaw, WA; grandchildren, Dana Ross of Seattle, WA and Chad (Sheryl) Jakel of Camano Island, WA; great-grandchildren, Mason Ross, Avery Jakel and Ethan Jakel; brothers, Raymond (Edna) Schott of Sterling, Leonard (Helen) Schott of Sterling, Kenneth (Mary) Schott of Alliance, NE and Donald (Sally) Schott of Gering, NE; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Miriam's name to the Zion Congregational Church in care of Chaney-Reager Funeral Home, PO Box 1046, Sterling, CO 80751.
