Mildred F. Littler passed on March 15, 2010, at the age of 93. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, March 18, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 19, at Christ United Methodist Church, 104 S. Fourth Ave., with the Deacon Ron Michieli officiating. Services will conclude at the church, followed by a luncheon reception.
Millie was born on July 6, 1916, to Henry and Lucille Leckler at Westplains. Millie and her brother Alfred (deceased) lived with their parents on the family homestead.
She was a lifetime resident of Logan County. She attended school in Westplains and graduated from Graylin High School in 1935.
On June 30, 1938 she married Robert D. "Bob" Littler in Sunshine Canyon above Boulder. After the wedding the couple moved to Sterling. During their 72 years of marriage, Millie and Bob were surrounded by their growing family.
Sons, David Littler and wife Sally, Henry Littler and wife Kathy, Howard Littler and wife Patti; and daughter, Karla Kelly and husband Tom; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren will all miss her dearly.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Hospice of the Plains in Mildred's name.
