Mildred Lydia Bollish, 85, of Sterling went to be with the Lord Tuesday October 27 2015.
Services will be held Saturday November 7, at 10 a.m., at the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Sterling, with Pastors Leroy Pickering and Justin Steimer officiating. There will be no graveside service at this time, however brunch will follow the church service.
Mildred was born January 28, 1930 to Daniel and Leah (Wagner) Amen in Melrose, Il.
On December 27, 1947 she married Donald E Bollish in Sterling, CO. They had been married 64 years. Don and Mildred lived on the family farm where they worked and had two children. Along with raising her family Mildred worked many years at the Model Cleaners in Sterling.
Mildred's most enjoyable moments were cooking and baking with a kitchen full of family and friends. She was an amazing mother to her son and held a motherly place in the hearts of her nieces, nephews and grandchildren, as she played an enormous role in their lives. She was a beautiful woman, with a very clever and witty sense of humor, she will be extremely missed.
Mildred is survived by her sister Eleanor Volcic and husband Glen of Sterling, brother Dan Amen of Sidney, NE. Daughter-in-law Shari (Bollish) Burton and husband Lyle of Sterling; granddaughter Jamie (Bollish) Kostka and her husband Jeff of Gypsum, CO; granddaughter Kelly (Bollish) Kuntz and her husband Shane of Sterling; grandson Joseph Bollish of Sterling. Three great grand children; Trey and Bobby Kuntz and Cole Kostka. As well as many nieces and nephews.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Leah Amen; her husband Donald Bollish; beloved son Robert Bollish; infant daughter Peggy; sister Valda Roberts; and brother, Jack Amen.
Mildred was thankful to all of her family and friends who helped provide care so that she could remain on the farm until the Lord called her home.
