Michael Lee Wood, 18, of Peetz, died Sept. 18, 2008, in Peetz. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, at Peetz High School, with the Rev. Jodie Harless officiating. Services will conclude at the school.
He was born Jan. 21, 1990, to Frank Loyd and Diana Rose (Conklin) Wood in Sidney, Neb. He graduated from Peetz High School and was attending DeVry University in Westminster.
Mr. Wood was employed at the Wal-Mart in Sidney.
He was a member of FFA and FBLA. He served as an FFA state officer and earned the accompanying degree. He had a scholarship from Chadron State College.
Mr. Wood enjoyed building models, drawing, playing video games and hanging with family and friends.
He is survived by his parents, Frank and Diana Wood of Peetz; sisters, Kathy Wood of Sidney and Natalie Wood of Peetz; grandfathers, Jack Conklin and Ronald Johnson; aunt, Maureen Sheldon of Loveland; uncles, Jeff Nixon of Missoula, Mont., Brad, Mark and Scott Conklin and David and Barry Harper; niece, Haley Wood of Sidney, nephew, Austin Wood of Sidney; cousins, Marty and Mary Nixon of Loveland; numerous other cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gilbert Wood; and grandmothers, Kathleen Wood and Barbara Johnson.
