Michael Joseph Jones, 48, of Sterling passed away Friday, March 21, 2014 in Sterling. There will be no services.

Michael was born on July 15, 1965 in East St. Louis, Illinois to Larry Joseph and Sandra Jane (Sanders) Jones. He moved from New Mexico to this area in 2006. He married Bonnie Kay Colwell on July 10, 2007 in Sterling, Colorado.

Michael served in the Marine Corp in California. He worked many years as a truck driver. He was a funny man who loved sports, especially golfing, baseball, football and Nascar. He loved listening to music and spent time as an internet radio DJ.   He also loved animals.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; mother, Sandra Wright and step-father Charles Barrow; sons, Trace Andor Kovacs and Taylor Brian Jordan all of Sterling; brothers, Matthew Jones and wife Lisa of New Jersey and James D. Wright of Texas; nephews, Donnie Wright of Sterling, Scott and Josh Jones of New Jersey; niece, Stephanie Jones of New Jersey; and uncle, Clarence "Bud" Sanders, Jr. of El Paso, Texas.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Larry Jones; stepfather, Charlie Wright; and grandparents, Clarence and Helen Sanders.
