Mel (Melodee Montgomery) came into this world on January 27, 1954, in Newburyport, MA and moved to Heaven on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, in Loveland, CO. Per her request, no services will be held.

Mel served a fifty-year career in the field of banking, thirty-one of those years at the Sterling Community Federal Credit Union in Sterling, CO.

Mel was a well-known and loved member of the Sterling community. Many people in the community will remember her for a smile that could light up a room and a laugh that could be heard around the world. She had a special fondness for black labs, and loved to talk about "her boys," Jasper and Bentley.

Mel was preceded in death by her parents James Crossley and Edith Patten Doran, from Largo, Florida.

Mel is survived by her long-time loving partner and devoted caretaker, Trent Roberts of Sterling, CO. She is also survived by her two elder sisters Diana and Holly, nieces Wendy, Lora, and Andrea, and many extended loving family members.

Whenever you see a rainbow, think of Mel. It is a sign from Heaven that she is happy and doing well.
