Melisa Jo Wolever, 59 of Fleming passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 in Greeley, CO. Visitation will be from 10 am to 4 pm, Sat., Dec. 30 and from 10 am to 4 pm, Sun., Dec. 31 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 2 to 4 pm on Sun. Dec. 31. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 am, Tues., Jan. 2 at the Fleming United Methodist Church with Rev. Jonathan Prescott officiating. Burial will follow at the Fleming Cemetery.

Melisa was born in Sterling, CO on February 20, 1958 to Mildred Louise (Saylor) Dodd. She attended school in Fleming and graduated in 1977. She was involved in numerous clubs in high school. After graduation, she married Sam Wolever, Sr. on August 24, 1978 in Fleming. Melisa was a stay at home mother and was a babysitter for many years. She was a member of the "CB Club" and was known as "Moe". During her younger years she played adult volleyball.

Melisa enjoyed crafting, gardening, collecting old things and decorating them, and collecting dolls, cows, birds and clocks. She also enjoyed pulling weeds in her yard and coloring pages in coloring books. She spent many hours learning to make jewelry and gave many of them to her family and friends. Melisa was affectionately known to many as Mommy, Grammy, Friend, Aunt and Sister, and was a very loving giving person and was always willing to help out whenever she could. She opened her house to many children over the years caring for them as if they were her children. She watched them grow into adults and have children of their own. She will be missed by so many.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Clyde and Esther Saylor; mother, Mildred Dodd; father-in-law, Wesley Wolever and numerous aunts and uncles.

Melisa is survived by her husband, Sam, Sr. of the family home; children, John Wolever and girlfriend, Leann Chancellor of Fleming, CO; Melanie Wolever and boyfriend, Jared Amen of Sterling, CO, Mike Wolever and wife, Kay of Juniata, NE, Ben Wolever and wife, Kim of Fleming, CO and Sam Wolever, Jr. of Fleming, CO; grandchildren, Tymberlie of Fleming; Cheyenne and boyfriend, Josh of Sterling, CO, Mason and Faith of Sterling, CO, Macie and Dakota of Juniata, NE and Matthew, Alexia and Brayden of Fleming; brother, James and wife Shelly of OK; sisters, Paula and husband Melvin of KS, Louise and Greg of Sterling and Tina of NE; brother and sister-in-laws, Rick and Beckie, Tim and Pat, and David and Lisa; and mother-in-law, Lois Wolever of Sterling. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts and friends.
