Mary Myrtle Lowery, 81, of Sterling, passed away Aug. 20, 2012, in Sterling. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, at Chaney-Reager, with the Rev. Michelle D. Witherspoon officiating. Interment will be at Sedgwick Cemetery in Sedgwick.
Mary was born Feb. 13, 1931, in Cameron, Mo., to Clea and Marjorie (Fulk) Bradford. She attended school in Missouri. The family moved to Fort Morgan in 1945.
On Sept. 5, 1947, she married James E. Lowery in Sedgwick. They resided in Fort Morgan until moving to Sterling in 1955. Mary worked with her husband, Jim, at the Mosco station through the years.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Mary enjoyed cooking.
She is survived by her husband, James E. Lowery of Sterling; son, James A. Lowery and Andrea of Middlesex, N.J.; daughter, Pam Chan and husband Wayne of Puyallup, Wash.; sisters, Beulah Jones of WaKeeney, Kan., Imogene Gibson of Cameron, Mo.; and granddaughter, Katie Chan of Puyallup.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Cleo Bradford Jr.
