Mary Catherine Kerschner, 95, of Merino, passed away May 31, 2013, in Sterling. Vigil service and recitation of the rosary will be at 6 p.m. Monday, June 3, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, with the Rev. Wojciech Gierasimczyk officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery.

Mary was born Dec. 7, 1917, in Sterling to Joseph and Catherine Santomaso.

On June 6, 1946, she married John Howard Kerschner in Sterling.

She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening and her children and family.

Mary is survived by her sons, Don Kerschner and wife Jan of Merino, Gene Kerschner and wife Karen of Alliance, Neb.; brother, John Santomaso and wife Mert of Sterling; grandchildren, Jennifer Palazzini and husband Gino of Merino, Lisa Schwien and husband Jarrett of Arvada, Jeffrey Kerschner and wife Kari of Parker, Marc Kerschner and wife Valerie of Cheyenne, Wyo.; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Kerschner in 1991; sisters, Angie Kerschner and Toni Leachman.
