Mary Edilia Gamez, 81 of Sterling passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2017 in Denver. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 18 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Service will conclude at the chapel.

Mary was born on June 14, 1935 in Abilene, Texas to Emilio and Sarah (Garcia) Flores. She worked many years as a cook at the Sidney and Sterling Regional Medical Centers. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Mary enjoyed sewing, cooking and spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, son Fernando Gamez, Jr.; daughter Canada Gamez, sisters Arlinda Santibanez and Antelina Vanldez; brothers Emilio C. Flores, Everado Flores and Jacks Flores.
Mary is survived by her children; Urvanno Gamez and wife Lila of Sterling and Villa Gamez and wife Wanda of Conway, SC; siblings, Elida Aldana and Amalia Carrion; 72 grandchildren; 58 great grandchildren; 30 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
