Mary I. Brunner, 84, of Sterling, passed away Jan. 28, 2013, in Sterling, surrounded by her loving family, after a long struggle with cancer. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home, with Vigil service to follow at 6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, with the Rev. Robert L. Wedow officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery.
Mary was born Feb. 3, 1928, in Sterling, to William and Matilda (Lee) Burke. She graduated from St. Anthony High School in 1946.
On Sept. 3, 1950, she married John Brunner at St. Anthony Catholic Church.
She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. She was a devoted wife, mother and proud grandmother. She enjoyed watching football and baseball games, especially the Broncos and the Rockies. She enjoyed taking trips to Blackhawk, bowling and spending time with her family.
She will be greatly missed by all of her family.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, John Brunner of Sterling; daughter, Debbie Wolff and husband Mike of Haxtun; son-in-law, Ray Hawk of Loveland; grandchildren, Jaime Campbell and husband Kris of Loveland, Jennifer Tjaden and husband Corey of Loveland, Jason Hawk and wife Marie of Loveland, Michelle Lock and husband Brian of Haxtun, Casey Wolff and wife Megan of Haxtun; sister, Irene Garrison of Sterling; great-grandchildren, Austin, Kayla and Ray Campbell, Megan and Jared Tjaden, Brynn and Bristol Hawk, Alyssa, Carter and Kaylee Lock, Ryland and Ashlyn Wolff; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Brunner; daughter, Cyndi Hawk; parents, William and Matilda Burke; sister, Lucille Werth; and brother, Vincent Burke.
