Marvin Orville Felzien
May 9, 1912 - July 8, 2007
Marvin Orville Felzien, 95, died Sunday, July 8, 2007, in Sterling. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 12, at Trinity Lutheran Church with August Luft officiating. Private burial services will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Felzien was born May 9, 1912, to John C. and Bertha (Golgart) Felzien in Holstein, Neb. He attended the Eagle Point School, Sterling High School and Barnes Business School.
In April 1937, he married Mildred L. Dunker. They made their home in the Kelly area and later lived in Sterling. He farmed in the Kelly community his whole life.
He was a member of the Sterling Rotary Club and Trinity Lutheran Church.
Mr. Felzien is survived by his wife of 70 years, Mildred; daughter, Sharon (Dean) Davis of Lantana, Texas; son, Gary (Gail) Felzien of Sterling; 10 grandchildren, Kevin (Diana), Kent (Abby), Kara (Rob), Maret (Ned), Joel, Debbie (Mark), Deanna (Mike), Cory (Melanie), Sarah and Molly; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ira and Garrett, both of Sterling; three sisters, Katherine Stokes, Evelyn Johns and Velda Bozarth; and son, Roger Felzien.
Memorials may be made to Sterling Cooperating Ministries or Sterling Rotary Club.
