Obituary
Marvin Eugene "Gene" Dennis, 62, of Sterling, died Oct. 15, 2011, in Sterling. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at Chaney-Reager, with the Rev. Michael Young officiating. Interment will be at Willard Cemetery in Willard.
Mr. Dennis was born Jan. 25, 1949, in Sterling to Wilbur Edwin Dennis Sr. and Ellen Marie (Pedersen) Dennis. He went to Snyder Consolidated School and graduated from Brush High School.
He farmed through the years and was a longtime employee of the Harry Bostron family.
Mr. Dennis is survived by his brother, Wilbur E. Dennis Jr. of Fort Morgan; sisters, Mary J. Mills of Newcastle, Wyo., Anna M. DeJong of Yankton, S.D.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Ellen Dennis Sr.; two brothers, Charles and Clarence Dennis; four sisters, Edna Dennis, Viola Prast, Myrtle Flese and Linda Dennis.
