Martin Martinez, 71 of Sterling passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2022, in Greeley, CO. Viewing will be held from 2-6 p.m. with family to receive friends from 4-6 p.m., on Tuesday, September 6, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 7, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. James R. Nash officiating. Martin will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery.

Martin was born March 18, 1951, in Seguin, Texas to Refugio Martinez and Eugenia Martinez. He attended Sterling schools. Martin married Leslie Jackson on November 20, 1973, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sterling. He worked 25 years at the beef plant and later worked for the City of Sterling until he retired. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is preceded in death by his wife Leslie Martinez, parents Refugio and Eugenia and brothers Gabriel Martinez, Refugio Martinez Jr., and Robert Martinez.

Martin is survived by his sons Cody (Jennifer) Martinez and Martin (Lori) Martinez Jr.; grandchildren Tara Harms, Cody Martinez Jr., Braden Martinez, Adyson & Zoey Martinez, Yasmin Martinez, and Monique Martinez; great grandson Sean Maldonado; sisters Rosey Jimmez and Delores Mendoza; in-laws Bonnie and Darrell Hobbs, David and Judy Marshall, Debra Jackson, Linda Martinez and Libby Martinez.
