Marjorie Lucille Michael, 82 of Sterling, passed away Sun., April 3, 2016 in Sterling. Visitation will be Wed., April 6 from 10am until 4pm at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Graveside service will be Thurs., April 7 at 10:30am at Fort Morgan Memory Gardens, Fort Morgan, CO.

Marjorie was born Aug. 22, 1933 in Heartstrong, CO to Walter W. and Nora Irene Spelts Van Matre. She graduated from high school. Marjorie worked for many years as a nurse at the Yuma Hospital.
She was a member of the First Christian Church, Hospital Aux., and the American Legion Aux. She enjoyed the outdoors, knitting and sewing.

Marjorie is survived by her son David Engel and wife Connie of Bedford, Virginia; stepchildren Linda Zawadzki and husband Tim of Fort Collins, CO, Marella smith and husband Jack of Douglas, WY, Robert Michael and wife Diane of Portage, Des Sioux, MO; stepdaughters-in-law Janice Michael of Sterling, CO, Vicki Michael and Linda Clevenger; step son-in-law James Wettstein and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husbands Carl Engel in 2000 and Don Michael in 1982, daughters Peggy Freeburg and Nancie Axtell and step children Don Michael, Kathy Wettstein and Dale Michael.
