Marion Gene Turnage, 63 passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2019 in Sterling, CO. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 2 at MacGregor Apartments with speaker Alan Ramey officiating.
Gene was born Sept. 13, 1955 in Sterling, CO to Vernon Ray and Mable Dean (Adamson) Iven. He was a concrete finisher in the construction business and worked in Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas and Oklahoma. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, dancing, playing pool and darts, throwing horseshoes and working on vehicles. He loved reading westerns, especially Louis L'Amour, watching old westerns, listening to classic rock and roll, and spending time with family and friends.
Gene is survived by his sister, Rae Deanne Turnage of Sterling; brother, Paul Gilbert and wife Mary of Keno, OR; daughter, Crystal Curtis and husband Mike of Kansas; son, Jonathan Parker and wife of Denver; three grandchildren; numerous nieces, and nephews; long-time loving companion, Terri Decker; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Sherry Faye Turnage (infant) and Joyce Alice Williams.
