Obituary
Marion Wayne Strohmeyer, 83 of Sterling, passed away Sat., Feb. 13, 2016 in Sterling. Visitation will be Wed., Feb.17 from 2pm until 6pm with family receiving friends from 4pm until 6pm at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Thurs., Feb. 18 at 2pm at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home, with interment at Riverside Cemetery.
Wayne was born March 1, 1932 in Sterling, CO to Marion Arthur and Cora Grace Clark Strohmeyer. He graduated from Sterling High School.
On July 7, 1950 he married JoAnn McCracken in Sterling, CO. Wayne was a Postal Letter Carrier for the US Government. In 1972 he was Logan County Deputy Sheriff. He also was a Denver Post carrier, worked in the oil riggs, was a truck driver and did maintenance at Sterling Heights and Devonshire Acres Nursing Homes.
Wayne was a member of the Church of God and a 50 year member of the Letter Carriers Association. He enjoyed camping, woodworking and football.
Wayne is survived by sons Rev. Donald Strohmeyer and wife Connie of Lyons, Kansas and Bryan Strohmeyer and wife Teri of Sterling, CO and daughter Linda Wirtala of Casper, WY; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife JoAnn Strohmeyer in 2013, son Gregory Allen Strohmeyer, brothers Don and Floyd and sister Ruth Green.
