Obituary

Marilyn Krier, 84, of Sterling, died October 1, 2014, in Sterling.

A rosary will be held at 6 p.m., Sun., Oct. 5, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be 10 a.m., Mon., Oct. 6, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with burial at Riverside Cemetery.

Marilyn was born July 4, 1930 to Beryl and Marie Ivers in Akron, CO. At a young age the family moved to Denver. She graduated from St. Joseph's High School in Denver.

She married Delmar Krier Oct. 6, 1948 in Edgewater. From this union were born nine children. They lived in the Akron area where they farmed and raised registered Hereford cattle. In 1970 they moved to Sterling. Marilyn was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. She was active on the Secular Franciscan Fraternity as well as the Legion of Mary.

Marilyn is survived by her nine children, Therese Weigel (Don) of Commerce City, Jerry Krier of Brighton, Mark Krier (Linda), Kevin Krier (Theresa), Bernadette Lester (LeRoy), Martin Krier (Kim), Matt Krier (Krista) all of Sterling, Tom Krier (Deborah) of Atlanta, GA and Antoinette Parker (Robby) of Thornton: brother and sister-in-law Harry and Lynda Ivers of Byron, NE; sister-in-law Joann Krier of Sterling and brother-in-law Duane Krier of Mesa, AZ. She was also the loving grandmother of 30 grandchildren, 59 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister Bonnie Ivers daughter-in-law Elaine Krier and grandson Christopher Weigel.
