Margaret Lorraine Dilley McIntire, 87 of Sterling, passed away Sun., Dec. 21, 2014 in Sterling. Visitation will be from 2pm until 4pm, Fri. Dec. 26 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Closed casket funeral service will be 11am Sat., Dec. 27 at First Presbyterian Church, Rev. Michelle D. Witherspoon officiating, with interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Margaret was born Dec. 19, 1927 in Sterling to James Otto and Bessie Helen Veverka Dilley. She received her early schooling in Morgan County at Brammer School and Sundberg Schools and middle school years in Logan County at Merino and high school in Merino, Padroni and graduated from Sterling High School in 1945.
On Sept. 28, 1947 she married Robert Allen McIntire in Denver. They lived on the family farm and raised three children, Thomas Dean, Debora Kay and Cheryl Ann. They moved to Sterling in 1967.
Margaret was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and was an Ordained Deacon, serving with the Evangelism Committee and Women's Association Wedding Reception Committee. She was active in the Kelly Home Extension Club and the Oak Leaf Extension Club in the Kelly area and was a 4-H leader. Margaret served on the Kelly Precinct Election Committee and was Logan County Republican Women's Treasurer, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and worked with the Girl's State Committee.
She held sister memberships in Beta Sigma Phi and Exemplers, PEO and Soyons Gaie Club, and enjoyed playing bridge with various bridge groups. Margaret enjoyed reading, sewing, china painting and the hide-out up the Poudre Canyon west of Ft. Collins with friends and family.
She worked as secretary, bookkeeper and office manager of several accounting firms and retired in 1990 from McGladrey and Pullen CPA's.
She is survived by son Thomas Dean McIntire and wife Ramona of Idaho Falls, Idaho; daughters Debora Kay McIntire of Sterling and Mexico, and Cheryl Ann Green and husband Robert of Farmington, New Mexico; brother Vernon Dean Dilley and wife Gwen of Brush; sister Dorothy Jean Wade and husband Lloyd of Westminster; sister-in-law Betty Jo Dick McIntire of Buffalo, Missouri; grandchildren Faye Michelle Hoff, Erin Justine Brosterhous and husband Luke, Jacqueline Diane Kennedy and husband Nicholas, Lindsey Ann Jackson and husband Max, Jennifer Ray Deuel and husband Jamin and Jeanna Rose Schow; great grandchildren Davis Brosterhous, Jett Brosterhous, Easton Deuel, Justin Deuel, Jaxon Schow and numerous nieces, nephews and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert Allen McIntire and grandson Christian Thomas McIntire.
