Obituary

Lydell Lamber Lydell S. Lambert, 75, of Sterling, died Jan. 18, 2011, in Littleton. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, at Peace Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Eugene Zeller officiating. Services will conclude at the church.

Mr. Lambert was born Sept. 28, 1935, in Haxtun to Wallace and Julia (Burmood) Lambert. He grew up in Haxtun and attended schools there.

He entered the U.S. Army and served for two tours of duty before his honorable discharge. He worked for Sterling Construction from 1955 until his death.

On Feb. 10, 1993, he married Theresa Temple in Brush.

Mr. Lambert was a lifetime member of the BPO Elks Lodge No. 1336 and the American Legion Post No. 20 in Sterling. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and snowmobiling.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa Lambert of Sterling; stepchildren, BeLinda Ann Dobbins of Missouri, Deboraha Jo Phillips of Grand Junction, Felicia Lynn Hielscher of Sterling, Melissa Rene Taylor of Grand Junction, Ronald Eugene Hielscher of Burlington, Pauline May Hielscher of Savanah, Mo.; daughter, Kim Westerman of Brighton; brother, Jerry Lambert of Erie; half-brother, Ray Lambert of Sterling; three nephews; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Lambert was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Julia Lambert; and sister, Marclene.

Memorials may be made to American Legion Auxiliary for college scholarships in his memory.
