Obituary

Lucille Irene Borner, 90, of Sterling, passed away Nov. 27, 2013, in Sterling. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2, at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Michelle D. Witherspoon officiating. Services will conclude at the church.

Lucille was born March 3, 1923, at home near Firth, Neb., to Louis and Rhea (Rudder) Moormeier, where she was raised with her brothers and sisters, Clifford, Donald, Lila Mae and Phyllis Jean.

She married William Borner on April 23, 1947, in Sterling. They raised four children and lived in southern California for 42 years.. In 2003, she moved back to Sterling.

She enjoyed gardening, reading and sewing, especially quilting.

Lucille is survived by her children, William H. and Marilyn Borner of Michigan, George and Pat Borner, Linda Borner, Cathie Long and honorary daughter Jomari Lechtman, all of Sterling; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Tamy and Phil Brown, Chad, Sasha, Daisy and Sophie Borner, Leeah and Devan Key, all of Sterling, Dustin, Lesley, Ryan, Kiley and Trevor Long of Pueblo West, Kristy, Stan, Abby and Lizzy Kaus of Longmont; Curtis, Joann and Zachary Borner of Virginia; brothers and sisters, Clifford and Eleanor Moormeier of Firth, Neb., Lila Mae and Norval Papke, Phyllis and Dale Papke,sister-in-law Alice Moormeier all of Cortland, Neb.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and brother, Donald Moormeier.

Contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Elevator Fund.
