Louisa Estrada, 70 of Sterling passed away Friday, January 28, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family. Viewing will be held from 2 – 7 p.m., Friday, February 4 followed by a Vigil Service and Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 5 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Sterling with Rev. Enrique Salazar as celebrant. Louisa will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery.

Louisa was born October 28, 1951, in Haskell, Texas to Juan Benavides and Angela (Reyes) Benavides. She attended school at St. Anthony's Catholic School in Sterling. Louisa married Arthur Estrada on January 23, 1971, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Sterling. Louisa worked as a dietician at Sterling Hospital, Rose Arbor Nursing Home and cooked at the Country Club for many years.

She enjoyed cooking for her family and many friends. She adored her grandchildren; they were her world! She loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children. Louisa also loved listening to Elvis and playing Bingo.

She was preceded in death by her parents Juan and Angela; brothers George and Daniel Benavides; sister Felice Benavides and best friend sister-in-law Ramona Benavides.

Louisa is survived by her husband Arthur; children Paul Estrada, Tracy Payne and husband Jason and Pamela Estrada all of Sterling, CO; siblings Carmen Reyes, Rosa Chavez and Steven Benavides all of Sterling, CO and grandchildren Jayden Garcia, Jessalyn Estrada, Taylor Payne, Jayce Estrada and Patrick Payne.
