Lorrain Taladay was born August 21, 1935 in Sterling Colorado. She was raised by her Grandmother Edna Taladay, after the death of her mother at age 6. She graduated from Yuma High School in 1953 and attended Northeastern Junior College, graduating in 1955. She is known to her friends as "Tally," her college nickname.

She married Louis Bornhoft on May 10, 1958 in a double wedding ceremony with Louis's brother Don and his bride Janice (Muths) at St Anthony's in Sterling, Colorado.

Louis and Tally farmed and made a home east of Stoneham, Colorado adjacent to Louis' parents' homestead. Here they raised 6 kids and lived until retirement. They moved in 1993 to Brush, and then to Sterling in 2001. After the death of her husband in 2009, Tally developed Alzheimer's disease and spent her later years in Windsor, Co and in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Tally was a loving mother, a devoted wife and homemaker, crafter and avid sports fan. She coached 4-H volleyball and Wildcat softball teams and closely followed all 6 of their kids through their school sports. She was one of the first volleyball officials when Title IX became active and girls' high school sports were organized. She served as scorekeeper for the girls and boys sports teams at Prairie High School for many years. She was thrilled when the Colorado Rockies franchise came to Denver and you would always know she would be watching on tv or listening on the radio to her beloved Rockies with scorebook at her side. In her later years she developed a love of golf along with her husband and they golfed in their retirement together until the death of Louis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Bornhoft, granddaughter Danielle Harryman, brothers Joe Taladay and Elmer Taladay, and sister Vivian Quintana.

Tally is survived by her children, Deb Goheen, and husband Bob of Florissant, CO, Cindy Harryman and husband Jay of Merino, CO, Kevin Bornhoft and wife, Sherri of Falcon, CO, Jeanette Ninemire and husband Mike of Falcon, CO, Ray Bornhoft and wife Donna of Windsor, CO, Rich Bornhoft and wife Kris of Windsor, CO, Grandchildren Tom Kugler, Krystal Sears (Nick), Stephany Tiffany, Chanda Schmidt (Nathan), Karson Harryman, Mitch Harryman, Kris Bornhoft (Laura), Ali Kemp (Mike), Jessi Bornhoft, Nicole Ninemire, John Ninemire, Melissa Struss (Ross), Matthew Ninemire, Austin Bornhoft, Morgan Pattison (Joey), Nick Bornhoft and Hannnah Bornhoft, 16 great grandchildren, brother Floyd Taladay and wife Shirley, sister in law, Janice Bornhoft and brother in law Jim Carper, and numerous nieces and nephews.
