Lola L. Prussman, 77, of Otis, died Sept. 14, 2007, in Otis. Visitation will be from noon until 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. James R. Nash officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at the Holyoke Cemetery.

Lola was born Oct. 29, 1929, to Dietrich and Martha (Warneke) Sagehorn on a farm near Amherst. She attended school at the Harmony District her first four years and then went to St. Pauls Lutheran School in Amherst up to the eighth grade. At Amherst Public School, she attended secondary grades.

In her years as a young woman, she had many vocations, including phone operator, grocery store clerk, church organist and beautician, receiving her degree from Greeley. Lola operated a salon in her parent's home in Holyoke.

On Aug. 14, 1957, she was united in marriage to Lyle G. Prussman at the Zion Lutheran Church in Holyoke.

After residing for some years in Loveland, the couple adopted two children, Gene and Jan. In 1966, the family moved out to Otis, in Washington County and started a wheat and cattle operation.

A few years later, two more adopted children were added to the family, David and Julie.

Lola was very involved with Trinity Lutheran Church in Sterling. She had her own extension club in the New Haven area. Also, she had put forth many dedicated years on the Lone Star School Board.

Lola is survived by her husband, Lyle Prussman; two sons, Gene and David Prussman; daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Bob Rogers; daughter, Julie Prussman, all of the Otis area; and three grandchildren, Lyle and Sara Rogers and Hailey Hewitt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Harold Sagehorn of Holyoke.
