Lois Irene (Dillon) Wolever, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2024, in Sterling, CO at the age of 91. Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 14 with family to receive friends from 5-7 p.m., at Halouska Family Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 15 at Halouska Family Chaney-Reager Funeral Home with Reverend Spencer Green officiating. Lois will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Lois was born July 8, 1933, at Busse Hospital in Sterling to Ross Edward & Wilma Ruth (Ferguson) Dillon. She attended Grayling School & Sterling schools, graduating from Sterling High School in 1950.  She was an active member of the Pawnee Valley 4-H Club.

She married Wesley S. Wolever on July 13, 1952. They raised their four sons: Rick, Sam, David & Tim on the farm south of Willard, Colorado. She worked for the Merino School District for 17 years as a janitor, school bus driver & pep-club sponsor.  She drove to many activities including several trips to State football, basketball, wrestling, volleyball & track tournaments. Many of the students that rode her buses remember her fondly.

After retiring, Lois & Wesley continued to work on the farm, attend farm auctions, travel & worked part time for Miller Auction Servies. Lois & Wesley were Ham Radio Operators & enjoyed visiting with other operators across the country.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Ross & Wilma Dillon; husband Wesley Sherman Wolever; sister Doris Dillon, sons, Rick Wolever & Sam Wolever, daughter-in-law Melisa Wolever, & granddaughter, Melanie Milligan.

Lois is survived by sons David (Lisa) Wolever & Tim (Pat) Wolever all of Sterling; daughter-in-law, Beckie Wolever of Greeley, CO; 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 3 great, great grandchildren & niece, Jeralyn Egger.
