Lois June Wagner, 81 of Crook passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017 in Ft. Morgan, CO. A celebration of life will be held at 1:00pm, Tuesday, June 6 at the United Church of Crook with Pastor Bill Couchenour officiating. The service will conclude at the church.

Lois was born on June 18, 1935 in St. Louis, MO to Rudolph and Hilda Ellen (Hausermann) Ries. Lois attended Garfield Elementary School through the 8th grade in St. Louis and went to the Hadley Technical School where she studied Millenary Arts. She later obtained an Associate's Degree in Cosmetology from Hadley Technical School in 1954. During college she worked at Godafroy Company where she was a product tester for Tresemme and Clairol Hair Products. After graduation from college, she worked at Woolworth Five and Dime, where she met and married the love of her life, Burnell. They were married on April 2, 1955 in St. Louis. After marriage, they were stationed at various locations and later settled in the Logan County area. They owned and operated various businesses throughout their lifetime including the Hilltop Concessions at the North Sterling Reservoir.

She was a member of the United Church of Crook, VFW Women's Auxiliary, PETA, Campfire Girls, and High County Fire Aux. of Gilpin County. She was very active in the church and was a Vacation Bible school leader for many years.

Lois is survived by her two daughters, Chere Jurgens of Hutchinson, Kansas and Diana Van Voorst and husband William of Georgetown, CO; sister, Ruthann J. Ries of St. Louis, MO; 10 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Burnell, daughter Linda Moore and sister Marjorie Bragga.
