Lois Lavern Trettenero, 83, of Sterling, died Feb. 13, 2007, in Sterling. Visitation is until 7 p.m. today, Feb. 15, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services are at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, at Chaney-Reager with Chaplain Eldon Callahan officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.
Mrs. Trettenero was born Jan. 15, 1924, in Peetz to Ted and Ruby (Stone) Hecker.
On May 31, 1941, she married Albert Trettenero in Sidney, Neb.
She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and family. She also enjoyed sports, garage sales, word search puzzles and, in her younger years, she liked to play cards. She was good at getting her husband to do "honey-do" projects. She liked traveling and playing the one-arm-bandit slot machines and buying lottery tickets.
Mrs. Trettenero is survived by her daughters, Phyllis Taylor of Yuma and Rebecca Ball of Sterling; sons, Phil Trettenero of Wheat Ridge, Jim Trettenero of Garden City, Kan., John Trettenero of Omaha, Neb.; a brother, Harvey Hecker of Cottonwood, Calif.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Trettenero in October 2000; sister, Mary Ann Kerr; and brother, Raymond Hecker.
