Lila Wilson, 97, of Sterling, Colorado sadly left us on Friday, December 1, 2023. A private family interment will be held at Sterling Riverside Cemetery.  A celebration of Lila's life will be held at 11a.m., Friday December 8, at Christ United Methodist Church with Pastor Kristie Firme officiating.

Lila was born October 31, 1926, in Sheridan Lake, Colorado to Elmer Lee and Maggie May (Christian) Wiebers. She was the oldest of 5 children. She graduated from Fleming High School in 1945. She attended the University of Northern Colorado, nearly completing her Bachelor of Arts Degree. She was a teacher and taught 4th, 5th, and 6th grades for one year in Southern Colorado before marrying Ray Wilson at the Fleming Methodist Church on June 12, 1949. They farmed south of Fleming, Colorado before moving to Sterling to retire. They had three children, Janet May, Ray Dean and Vickie Sue.

Lila was a farm wife and enjoyed her role very much. She was a member Christ United Methodist Church.  She liked embroidery, quilting, reading, music, and a variety of games.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray; her parents, Elmer and Maggie; granddaughter, Emily Wettstein, son-in law, Ken Wettstein, brothers, Authur Wiebers, William Wiebers and sister-in-law Mary Louise Wiebers.

Lila is survived by her children; Janet (Glen)Ashmore; Ray (Celeste) Wilson, and Vickie Wettstein,  her grandchildren, Randy, Tom, and Adrian Ashmore; Chad (Peggy) Wettstein, Ryan Wettstein, and Jessica (Kendall)Wettstein, great-grandchildren Katrina, Marissa, Marcus, Kodie, MaKenna, Gage, Braelyn and Kenny; great-great-grandchildren Keirina, Alexander, Luka, and Cleo, brother Ed (Mary) Wiebers, sister Dorothy Griess and sister-in-law Betty Wiebers Allen.
