Leslie Ann Clairmont, 47, of Sterling passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Sterling Regional Med Center. A celebration of Leslie’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Knights of Columbus Hall, 421 S 11th Ave. Sterling, CO. Friends and family are welcome to gather and remember the wonderful life Leslie lived. Celebrate in the joy and love and her beautiful smile she shared with everyone around her.
Leslie Ann Clairmont “Ohitika Winyan” which means brave woman in Sioux was born March 8, 1978, in Rosebud, South Dakota to Elmer Clairmont and Lucinda Little Bald Eagle. She was raised by her aunt Velma and uncle Joe Cabrera in Sterling, Colorado. Leslie graced the world with her presence for nearly 48 years before passing away March 7, 2026.
Throughout her life, Leslie demonstrated a remarkable versatility and commitment to her various professional roles. Her career journey was diverse, ranging from managing at Wendy’s to serving as a manager at Eastern Services and finally embracing the role of an administrator at Harmony Home in Ft. Morgan. Each position she held was a testament to her dedication and adaptability, qualities that she carried into all aspects of her life.
Her heart was deeply entwined with her love for Bruce and Breezy, who were her central figures in her life. Her compassion and devotion extended beyond her immediate circle as she took on the noble responsibility of raising her brother Troy’s children, Taylor and Amya following his passing. This selfless act highlighted her nurturing spirit and unwavering commitment to family.
Leslie’s legacy is characterized by her warmth and generosity, traits that left a lasting impact on those who knew her. Her ability to manage and balance various roles while maintaining deep personal connections speaks volumes of her character. She embraced life with a positive spirit and made every place she touched a little brighter with her presence.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Velma Cabrera and Elmer and Rena Clairmont and her mother Lucinda Little Bald Eagle Clairmont and nephew Joseph Clairmont.
Leslie is survived by her love Bruce Frankenfeld; daughters Taylor and Amya; siblings Robert Clairmont, Loni (Aaron) Cabrera, Cyndi Cabrera and J.R. (Aggie) Clairmont and Madina Clairmont; nieces and nephews Matthew Clairmont, Ashton Cabrera, Colton Clairmont, Ty Taylor, Maleigh (AJ) Clairmont, Arianna Janean Leigh, Lucy Sioux and great nephew Percy; Aunt Bernadine Sitting Holy, Uncle Chester Bowman, and Uncle Virgil Quick Bear; cousins Sheralda Randall, Tyler Jr., Alonzo-Lexi, and Tyler and Genia LeBeau; special cousins Tammy (Johnny) Futch, Michelle (Mike) Sanchez, Jeff Martinez, Adina Howard, Janae Gertner, and Rico Martinez and all cousins; special friend Heather Carrasco and special daughter Desiree Dempcy.
