Lenore was born at home in Atwood, Colorado on January 8, 1920 to Leonard Guy and Anna Florence (Saul) Jones. She attended school in Atwood graduating in 1938 and then attended Normal Training School (teacher training) in Gillette, Wyoming.  She began teaching in Arvada, Wyoming where she met her future husband, Charles Severance.  They were married March 15, 1941 and lived in Wyoming until moving to Seattle, Washington during WWII where Charles built ships for the Navy.  The couple moved back to Wyoming briefly after the death of Charles' parents and then returned to Colorado.  Charles farmed with his brother-in-law, Leonard Jones in Atwood for many years before moving to Merino, Colorado.  Lenore lived in Merino following the death of her husband until she moved into Devonshire Acres where she resided until her death.

Lenore was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Guy and Anna (Saul) Jones; husband Charles A. Severance; son Charles "Roger" Severance; siblings Leonard Jones, Lloyd Jones, Lawrence Jones, and Lucille Lair; and grandson Gary Rader.

She is survived by her sister Ruth Robertson; sister-in-law Mary Leath; daughters and sons-in-law, Laurina Cullip, Marilyn (Bob) Myers and Kathleen Severance (George Medaris); grandchildren Rick Cullip, Nicky (Tim) Richie, Jill (Tom) Johnson, Les Myers, Stephanie Myers, Charles Severance Medaris, Alex "John" Severance Medaris; great-grandchildren Abigail Cullip, Rylee Cullip, Andrew Shumaker, Lindsey Richie, Brendan Johnson, Brason Johnson, Chris Pannunzio; and great-great grandchild Zoi Shumaker.  Lenore is also survived by many nieces and nephews,  great-nieces and great-nephews, as well as friends in Merino, Atwood, and Sterling.

Lenore was an avid reader and gardener as well as an accomplished seamstress, crochet and knitting enthusiast, and an amazing quilter. She taught herself to paint and play several musical instruments.  She enjoyed all these activities until macular degeneration took her eyesight and she was unable to continue.

Lenore will be remembered as the little old lady who enjoyed her walks around Merino often trailed by her neighbor's little dog who spent most of his time with her. She frequently sat on her porch waving to school kids and neighbors as they passed the little house on the corner with its welded chain mailbox which still remains on that street.
