Lawrence Frederick Michel of Sterling, CO peacefully passed away, Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Sterling Regional MedCenter.

A closed casket funeral will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 11:00a.m. at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home.  Chaney-Reager Funeral Home will be streaming the funeral live via Facebook at www.facebook.com/chaneyreager .   Larry will be laid to rest at  Riverside Cemetary in Sterling, CO. Larry's family respectfully requests that no floral arrangements be sent and any contributions given to Zion Congregational Church in care of Chaney-Reager Funeral Home, PO Box 1046, Sterling, CO 80751.

Lawrence, better known as Larry, was born August 17, 1937.  Larry graduated from Sterling High School in 1955.  He continued his education at Northeastern Junior College and graduated in 1957.

Larry married the love of his life, Charlene June Gritten, on November 1, 1958.  They just celebrated their 62 ^nd wedding anniversary.  Together they had four children.  They moved several times from Denver, Brush, Sterling to settle in Atwood, CO on his family's farm where they resided for 43 years.  Larry and Charlene returned to Sterling, CO on November 1, 2020.

Larry loved being on the farm where he grew up and raised his family.  He enjoyed gardening, being outside and tinkering on his El Camino.  He loved going to "Dutch Hop" dances.  He worked for public service companies through out his life.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Anna Michel, his sisters Esther and Rosemary and his brother Leo

Larry is survived by his loving wife, Charlene Michel, his children: Lori (John) Prelle of Hemingford, NE, Gary (Janette) Michel of Atwood, CO, Jerry (Lani) Michel of Atwood, CO, Doug (Beth) Michel of Brunswick, OH.  His grandchildren: Shawnna Prelle, Ashley (Michael) Ball, Melinda Carter, Michel (Danielle) Prelle, Alison Michel, Andrew Michel, Christopher (Jaden) Michel, David (Jessica) Michel, Malia Michel, Paul Michel, Sara Michel, Danny Michel, Jason (Morgan) Gardner and many great grandchildren.
