Lawrence "Larry" Joseph Lechman, 78 of Merino, CO passed away Thursday, December 1, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family. A private family service will be held.
Lawrence was born January 22, 1944, in Ovid, CO to Joseph John Lechman Jr and Pauline Margaret (Kloberdanz) Lechman. Larry married Billie Jean Naugle on July 24, 1965, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Sterling. He enlisted in the National Guards in 1965 and he obtained the rank of staff sergeant before being honorably discharged in 1971.
Larry enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting and the best days were sitting in his boat trolling for Walleye. He was a staunch NRA lifetime member and believed in the right to carry & bear arms.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph John Lechman Jr and Pauline Margaret Kloberdanz, brother Ronald Eugene Lechman, sister-in-law Lanalle Lechman and nephew Ross Lechman.
Larry is survived by his wife Billie Jean, son Shane Lechman and daughter Shawn Rose and husband Lee; grandchildren Ashley Ruiz, Shane Joseph Lechman, Ethan Rose; great-grandchildren Kenna Ruiz and Kylie Ruiz, and sisters Diana Hubanka and Patricia Strimple and numerous nieces and nephews.
