Larry William Lybarger was the fourth son of Willis Charles and Helen Ilow (Stark) Lybarger, born February 12, 1935, in Sterling, Colorado.

Larry was raised in rural Logan County and graduated from Sterling High School in 1953.  He married Helen Joyce Mitchell on February 18, 1955.  Two children were born to the union.

Professionally, Larry worked for local farmers, the Production Service Oil Company (10 years), and lastly as a Foreman for Public Service, the company from which he retired in 1994 following 30 years of service.  He was a former member of the Sterling Lions and Elks Clubs, and a current member of Sterling's Zion Congregational Church.

Passions included arrowhead hunting, walking his Shih Tzu Charlie, gardening, golfing, and winters in Arizona.  Larry particularly enjoyed good conversation with friends and spending quality time with family.  His smile and laugh will be remembered by all, and his affable personality missed at the Logan County Visitor Center, where he enjoyed volunteer work.

Preceding Larry in death were his parents and brothers Frederick (Jerry), Carter, Col. Robert, and Deacon Warren.

Survivors include wife Helen Joyce, of Sterling; daughter Jennifer Lynn (Stephen) Mitchell of Arvada; son Larry Mark (Kathy) of Grand Junction; sister Elaine (David) Giesler of Lake Havasu City, AZ; grandchildren Sarah (Dr. Nathan) Lohmeyer of Denver, Robert (Heather) Lybarger of New York City, NY, and Collin (Amanda) Lybarger, of Salem, OR; and two great grandchildren, Jack and Charlie Lohmeyer.  Larry is also survived by sister-in-law Geri Rose as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
