Obituary

Laddie William Burton,94 of Sterling, passed away Tues., Oct. 6, 2015 in Sterling. Memorial service to be held 11:00 a.m. Sat., Oct 31, 2015 at Willard United Methodist Church, Rev. Spencer Green officiating, with services concluding at the church.

Laddie was born March 12, 1921 in Wellfleet, NE to William Thomas and Anna Hazel Bartlet Burton. He moved to Dailey in 1930 and graduated from Dailey High School in 1939.

Laddie moved to Haxtun in 1944, where he married Coral Doris Hart on Nov. 23, 1944. He served in the US Army during WWII from 1945 until his honorable discharge in 1946.

He was a farmer his entire life. They moved to Fleming in 1946 and then to Padroni in 1958. They moved to Atwood in 1964 and became foster parents until 1979. They lived in Merino from 1974 until moving to Sterling in 2011.

Laddie was a member of Willard Methodist Church. He was an active member at church and enjoyed singing in the church choir. He enjoyed welding and working on small projects.

Laddie is survived by his children Avis LaFayette of Tampa, FL, Lola Rasmussen and husband Roy of Kearney, NE, Glen Burton and wife Paula of Sterling, Lyle Burton and wife Shari of Sterling; foster child Sheldon Neuschotz of Sterling; 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Coral Burton, daughter Leah Clark, brothers Richard and Boise Burton and sister Eulalie Lauridson.
