Kimberly Melissa Ray
April 22, 1992 - July 6, 2008

Kimberly Melissa Ray, 16, of Sterling, passed away the morning of July 6, 2008, in Sterling. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home, with family receiving friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 10, at Chaney-Reager, with the Rev. Joyce DeToni-Hill officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery.
Kimberly was born April 22, 1992. She loved all of her friends: Becky, Tiffany, Lauren, Kelsey, Alicia and Hannah. She was too afraid of the phone to call them, but loved them all just the same.
She attended Sterling High School, in the W.E.S. program. She participated in many areas of the Special Olympics, basketball, bowling and track and field, and she won many awards. She received recognition from President Bush for being an honor roll student for three years.
Kimberly volunteered to work the concession stand to raise money for the field trips they went on with the Special Olympics. She wanted to go to college to be a fashion designer.
She loved her computer and Nintendo DS and also Spongebob. Kimberly and Becky liked to hide their dolls in the trees and try to find them. She loved pickles and popcorn and Taco Bell.
Kimberly had many special gifts and was loved by many. She brought joy to all who knew her.
She is survived by her grandparents, Bill and Pat DeAtley of Sterling, who raised her; great-aunt, Linda Williams of Santa Maria, Calif.; great-aunt, Melissa "Lissy" Ambrose, and great-uncle, John Ambrose, of Iliff; aunt, Heather Kroeger, and uncle, Berry Kroeger, of Greeley; and cousin, Robert Williams of Amarillo, Texas.
We all loved Kimberly tremendously and each of us will miss the unique gift that Kimberly brought to each of us.
Heaven became a more beautiful place today.
