Kenneth Hanson Rudolph, 87, a longtime resident of Crook, died Friday, Oct 3, 2008, in Sterling, surrounded by his family. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, with family receiving friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, at United Church of Crook with the Rev. Dave Tyree officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling.
Kenneth Rudolph was born Jan. 3, 1921, in Kearney, Neb., to Joe and Jennie (Baird) Rudolph. In 1930, he moved with his parents to Crook.
On Aug. 8, 1944, he married Lucile Walker in St. Francis, Kan. They lived and farmed in the Crook community for 61 years before moving to Sterling in the fall of 2005.
Kenneth was a member of the Crook Faith English Lutheran Church for years before becoming a member of the First English Lutheran Church in Sterling. While living in Crook, he also attended the United Church of Cook.
Kenneth is survived by three daughters, Colleen J. Lebsack of Sterling, Jeanne E. Rudolph and husband William of Las Vegas, and Patti Jo Haynes and husband Dale of Holyoke; three grandsons, Ryan Lebsack and wife Brandi of Castle Rock, Rudy Haynes and wife Pam of Holyoke and Randy Haynes of Holyoke; two great-grandsons, Kaden Lebsack of Castle Rock and Trent Huffman of Holyoke; and two sisters-in-law, May Morgan of Loveland and Eva Walker of Sidney, Neb.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lucile, of 61 years; and son-in-law, Allen Lebsack.
