Keith Bennett Ladd

Keith Bennett Ladd, 91, of Merino, Colorado passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2026, in Haxtun, Colorado. A private family service will be held at a later date.

Keith was born in Sterling, Colorado on August 21, 1934, to Bob and Birdie (Slater) Ladd. He married Phyllis Eilleen Hoffman on February 26, 1956, in Fort Morgan, Colorado. The two of them and made a life together on a farm northwest of Merino. On this farm, they raised four children, Sue, Tom, Alan and Rob.

Keith enjoyed spending time with his family, especially the regular “pizza nights” and camping trips. He spent years racing and breeding thoroughbred horses and enjoyed sharing this pastime with family and friends. Keith always had a story to share and a joke to tell with his ornery spirit.

Keith was a member of the Colorado Breeders Association. Keith was passionate about children and education and served three terms on the Buffalo School District Board of Education.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Birdie Ladd; brothers Rex and Don Ladd; Sister Betty Morrison; and great-grandchild Sawyer Ladd.

Keith is survived by his sisters Beverly Van DeWeghe and Dorothy Miller, children Sue (Pary) Accomasso, Tom (Christy) Ladd, Alan Ladd, and Rob Ladd; five grandchildren, Dan (Kayce) Ladd, Kari (Andy) Skordas, Tessa (Devin) Heller, Melanie Ladd, and Amber (Jon) Nelson; and great-grandchildren Reb and Kaebrynn Heller, Slater Skordas, Camden and Kinley Ladd, Quinn, Hank, June and Clyde Nelson, and Walker Ladd.
