Obituary

Katie (Katherine) B. Webb, 84, formerly of Iliff, died Monday, February 8, 2021 in Greeley, CO.  Katie requested no visitation or service.  Instead, as a family, we would ask that all cards be mailed to 2200 37 th Street Lot 94, Evans, CO 80620 and donations made to Pathways Hospice (4075 W 11 th St, Greeley, CO 80634) in remembrance of Katie Webb.

Katie was born January 7, 1937, to Harry and Frieda Scheuerman in Sterling.  She grew up on the family farm and attended school in Padroni.

Katie married Dale Webb on May 27, 1958, near Fort Smith, Arkansas, where Dale was stationed in the Army.  After Dale was discharged from the army, Dale and Katie made their way back to Padroni and started their family on their own farm.

Katie loved everything about farm life from raising their four children, Jack, Peggy, Debbie, and Kathy, to butchering animals, making jerky, gardening, canning fruits and vegetables, driving tractor and feeding family and friends.  There were many a get-together at the farm and no one ever went home hungry, Katie made sure of that!

Katie and Dale left the farm for Dale's job in 1984, and made a home in Firestone, CO.  They were there for about 10 years when they made their way back to the farm.  Katie was never so happy to get back to the quiet life she loved so much. Katie continued life on the farm by herself after losing Dale in 2003.  She maintained the property they loved together until her health brought her closer to her kids in 2018, when she moved to Evans, CO.

Katie had many passions in life but nothing was more important than her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and so on.  She loved being surrounded by family and always made sure everyone had slippers that she loved to knit.  Katie loved her community and on many occasions she would find herself delving into the history of Padroni and surrounding community compiling a notebook for others to learn from.  She opened her home up to many and always had food ready to serve and words of wisdom to share whether or not you wanted to listen. "It'll all come out in the wash", was one of her favorite sayings.

Katie was loved by many friends and family and her strength and generous spirit will be missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dale, her brother Larry Scheuerman, grandson Jeremy Stryker and great-granddaughter Mickayla Slade.

Katie is survived by her sister Fonda Birgenheier, of Sterling, her sister-in-law, Judy Scheuerman, of Windsor and her brother Bob Scheuerman, of Ft. Lupton, her children, Jack Webb, of Evans, Peggy Jones, of Denver, Debbie (Dan) Slade of Greeley and Kathy (Mike) Mason of Las Cruces, NM.  Katie had 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren all of whom she loved dearly.
