Karen Ernestine Gemaehlich, 74 of Otis, CO passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2018. Visitation with family and friends will be at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home from 2-4 pm on Sunday, March 4, 2018. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, March 5 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Holsten officiating. Burial will follow at the Burdette Cemetery.

Karen was born on December 22, 1943 in Sterling, CO to Cecil and LaVonne (McCracken) Robinson. Karen attended Sterling schools and graduated from Crook High School. She worked as a telephone switch board operator before marrying Don Gemaehlich on May 26, 1963. Don and Karen celebrated 54 years of marriage before her passing. Karen's time was spent with family, friends, enjoying grandkids and helping take care of the farm. Karen loved finding ways to help and encourage others. Karen's love for family and compassion for others is what she will be remembered for most.

Karen is survived by her husband Don Gemaehlich; children, Donna Lynch and husband Brian of Brush, CO; Cecil Gemaehlich of Otis, CO; and Valerie Ciurej and husband Steve of Fort Collins, CO; five grandchildren, Kyle Lynch and wife Cesia of Texas, Derek Lynch and wife Erin of Colorado Springs, Laura Lynch of Brush, CO, Tyler Ciurej of Fort Collins, CO, Bradley Ciurej of Fort Collins, CO and one great grandchild Nora Belle Lynch of Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents Cecil and LaVonne Robinson and son Richard Allen Gemaehlich.
