July 3, 1925 - March 28, 2007
Julian L. "Jay" Reyes, 81, of Sterling, died March 28, 2007, in Sterling. Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 1, 2007, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 2, at Chaney-Reager with Deacon Ronald Michieli officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.
Julian was born July 3, 1925, in Atwood, Colo., to Jose and Grace (Delgado) Reyes. He attended Atwood school.
On Aug. 9, 1947, he married Margaret Alcala in Sterling. Julian worked at Sterling Lumber Co. for many years. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening and woodworking. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, watching his kids and grandkids playing sports. He liked listening to music and playing cards.
Julian is survived by his wife, Margaret Reyes of Sterling; daughters, Irene Darby and husband Marc of Sterling, and Bonnie Nestor and husband Ron of Sterling; son, Larry Reyes and wife Kelli of Atwood; brother, Richard Reyes of Sheboygan, Wis.; four grandchildren, Brad Darby and wife Holly, Brenda Gojkovich and husband Tim, Whitney Reyes and Aaron Reyes.
