Obituary

Judith Lucille Lindstrom, age 81, "began breathing with Jesus" on Wednesday, August 4, 2021. Visitation and receiving of friends will be held from 4-6 p.m., Tuesday, August 10 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. A celebration of Judy's life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 11 at Christ United Methodist Church. Judy will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery.

On March 20, 1940, Judy was welcomed into the world by her parents, Harry and Estel Hall and sister Doris in Des Moines, Iowa. Soon after high school graduation her parents relocated the family to Sterling, Colorado. She received her associates degree from Northeastern Junior College in 1960 and then went on to Colorado State College to obtain her teaching license. Upon graduation she moved to Stockton, California and taught elementary for three years.

In the summer of 1965 Judy made a trip home to visit family and friends. While there she was introduced to Neil Lindstrom. A year later they were married on June 10, 1966.

Judy was a lifelong teacher. She taught Language Arts at Sterling Middle School. There she encountered countless students, whose lives she greatly impacted. Judy retired from RE-1 Valley School District in May of 1995 after 30 years of teaching. She then continued to substitute teach for 20 years after retirement. Judy taught a grand total of 53 years.

Judy had a LOVE of travel. Any chance she had she and Neil were off on some adventure. Whether close to home or oceans away, they always had a grand time. Some of the highlights were Hong Kong, Israel, New Zealand, Australia and many of the States.

Music was at the center of Judy's heart. She loved playing the piano, singing, and listening to others do the same. She played keys at the First Christian Church for 40 years and then continued to improvise in the comforts of her own home.

Neil and Judy loved helping those in need. They sponsored the relocation of two Asian families.  Helping these two families to transition to life in the United States was one of Judy's greatest sources of joy.

She was preceded in death by her husband Neil, Parents Harry and Estel Hall.

Judy will be remembered by her sister Doris Neir, In-laws, and countless nieces, nephews, extended family, and beloved friends.

She will be greatly missed and remembered by many family members, friends, and students.

Contributions may be made in Judy's memory to Christ United Methodist Church and First Christian Church.
