Obituary

Judith Ann Leckler, 69 of Sterling, CO passed away Saturday, August 10, 2024, in Ft. Collins, CO. Visitation will be held from 1-6:00 p.m., Friday, September 6 at Halouska Chaney-Reager Funeral Home with family to receive friends from 4-6:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 7, at Halouska Chaney-Reager Funeral Home with Pastor Lew Champ officiating. The service will conclude at the chapel.

Judith was born December 31, 1954, in Denver, CO to Marvin Ernest and Betty Jane (Schoenberg) Bell. She graduated from Sterling High School in 1973. She worked at Sterling Regional Medical Center as a dietary aide from 1974-1979, for Books Clocks Rocks/ERL Enterprises from 1990-1992, for Gibson's sporting goods Dept. manager and then for the Logan County Sheriffs Dept. from 1993-2019. Judith married Elton R. Leckler on June 21, 1974, in Sterling, CO.

She was part of the NECO Game/Fish Club, Fort Wicked Muzzleloaders and Colorado Dept. of Wildlife Hunter Safety Education. She was also a member of POSSE and was an NRA-Co Instructor w/Elton Leckler Firearms Instruction and Ladies Home Protection.

She enjoyed singing, crafts, team shoot for charity trap shooting, Mountain Man Rendezvous Reenactment, hunting, fishing, camping, traveling, and spending time with family and grandchildren. She was also a member of the First Christian Church in Sterling.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Wayne Bell, sister Linda Hayley, father-in-law Verle Leckler, mother-in-law Evelyn Leckler and son-in-law Patrick Mogus.

Judith is survived by her husband Elton Leckler, son Scott (Michelle) Leckler, grandchildren Kegan (Aly) Leckler and Zachary Leckler all of CO; daughter Crystal (Tim) Kirschbaum, grandchildren Amanda Colborn-Kirschbaum, great- grandchildren Derrick Colborn,  Alison (Tony) Rodriguez, great-grandson Jackson Juarez, great-granddaughter Mia Rodriguez, Stephen (Rachael) Kirschbaum and Kathryn Kirschbaum (JT Taylor) all of NE; daughter Nita (Pat) Mogus, grandchildren Chantal Myslive, great-grandsons Brent and Zachary and great- granddaughters Hope and Brandy all of CO,  Phillip Boltz and Amber Boltz both of SD, Justin Boltz (Trinity Backer), great-granddaughter Illianna Boltz, and Cody (Kaitlin) Mogus, great-granddaughter Gracen, and great-grandsons Callum and Hayes, Justin (Kaylee) Mogus all of NE; daughter Lisa (Dave) Logan and grandchildren Elias and Ethan Logan all of CO; sister-in-law Beryl (Darrel) Wagner, nephew Jay (Laura) Wagner, great nephew Dillon; niece  Tami (Chip) Bruegman, great niece Carli and great nephew Cade; brother Ron (Kristine) Bell, nieces Tina Sweigart, Rikkilynn (James) Roller and Chelsea (Barett) Freund, great nieces Evonna and Evangeline, step-niece Kylie Freund, nephew Kyle Nocero, and  Bonnie Beene (Judy's bestie) all of KS; brother Larry Bell of CO, niece Amber Bell of GA; brother William Miller of CO, late brother Wayne Bell's daughter, niece Becky Bell, and great- nephew Adam Bell both of NE, nephew Kevin (Stacey) Bell, great nephew Kaleb Bell, great nieces Kendra Bell and Kaitlyn Bell all of CO; brother-in-law Ralph Hayley of MO, nephew Thomas (April), great nephews Thomas Jr. and Tyson Hayley all of LA and nephew Danny Hayley of MO.
